Dashing Through The Snow – Book Tag

In Blog Awards and Tags by Nya2 Comments

The Dashing Through the Snow Book Tag was created by Astra @A Stranger’s Guide to Novels. I believe I wasn’t technically tagged by anyone; however, many of you have tagged ‘everyone’ in general, so I guess it applies. I am in a festive mood, and I really wanted to do this tag. Enjoy!

1. Name a book you would like to see under your Christmas tree

I have been wanting to read this for a while, so why not? Nothing to with the game. Ok, it has to do with the game.

The Blood of Elves. The Last Wish.

2. Name a book you’ll be reading during the Christmas season.

Just one? Ok, I definitely want to read a Christmas-themed book at some point, so I will say I will be in a mood for this one:

Christmas Ever After

3. Name your favorite Christmas movie.

Not too sure if it’s my favorite one, but it’s sure one that I enjoy watching: The Elf.

4. Do you like snow?

If I am inside, yes. If I am outside and need to get to work, no, not really! With that being said, it’s nice to spend Christmas inside while it’s snowing outside. For some reason, it only seems to snow in January or February here in the UK. In any case, I will be spending Christmas in Portugal, so 100% sure I won’t be having a white Christmas!

5. Name a character you would like to spend your Christmas day with.

Bigby Wolf! Well yeah, I am scared of wolves, but this one is effortlessly cool!

6. To give or receive.

It’s all about the exchange, so I’d say both are involved. But if you are asking me what’s my favorite part, I’d say to give. I love picking gifts for the important people in my life. It’s more of a stressful task during Christmas, but still part of the fun!

7. What fictional place would you like to spend Christmas at?

I have always wanted to spend Christmas in a non-typical location. Somewhere even hot, maybe. So why not Dorne?

8. Fondest Christmas memory?

It was Christmas, I was a kid, and I was back from school one day when I told my grandma: “Grandma, the kids at school say Santa doesn’t exist.” And she said: “That’s not true, tonight you’ll see him!”

For some reason, me and my cousin always hid in the bedroom when Santa was “coming” (we were too shy, so no, we never wanted to “see” him – weird, isn’t it? haha). In Portugal, the tradition is opening the gifts at midnight, not waiting until the next day. So my grandma would make all this noise in the living room to try to convince us that Santa was in the house leaving our gifts. That night, I knew there was no Santa, but still, I hid in the bedroom with my cousin to maintain the Christmas spirit.

Rest in peace, grandma. In fact, what I liked most about Christmas, was that she always made an effort to gather the family together. I miss her, and Christmas reminds me of her even more. It’s sadder now.

9. Can you say Christmas tree ten times FAST  in a row (pronouncing it correctly!)

I did it!

And now,

  1. Everyone is tagged!
  2. Merry Christmas everyone!

P.S. Also, because it’s Christmas Jumper Day today here in the UK, I thought I’d indulge in some selfie #elfie love and show you my ugly jumper! Happy Christmas Jumper Day!

    1. Author

Thank you! 🙂 Me, being Portuguese, and having watched so many American movies, I am more used to American English. But then, living in the UK…hehe. Do you guys have a day for the Christmas sweater too?
